Filmmaker Ekta Kapoor’s Veere Di Wedding is doing phenomenal business at the box office. The female buddy comedy film has collected Rs 48.03 crore in five days and with this total, it has surpassed the business of Varun Dhawan’s October (Rs 45.36 crore) and Rani Mukerji’s Hichki (Rs 46.17 crore). The film has now become the ninth highest grosser of the year. It will soon cross the collections of Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran and 102 Not Out to grab the seventh position in the list.
Ekta Kapoor today revealed that her film would had reached breakeven at Rs 23 crore, but it collected around Rs 36 in its opening weekend, which itself tells its success story. Apart from the domestic circuit, it has performed brilliantly well in the international markets too. Veere Di Wedding has already crossed Rs 80 crore mark at the worldwide box office. Looking at the current performance, we are expecting the film to cross Rs 100 crore mark globally by the end of its opening week.
