All thrillers must and should have captivating screenplay. This ‘Trataka’ of producer Rahul Ainapura also playing in lead role has done just that and keeps you on the edge of the seat just 10 minutes of the start of the film.
Shiva Ganesh has given a strong reply to his detractors. Arriving at a tremendous screenplay gathers good attention and you bite your nails on ‘WHODUNIT’. A taut thriller with nerves from this team is admirable. It will give work for the brain quite often.
The film gathers enormous attention from the first murder and the typical disease of a cop has come to the help of director. It is called as ‘CPS’ – Complex Partial Seizure. In every murder this terrific cop who was nightmare to several criminals is a part to it. This obtains attention because Dev (Rahul Ainapura) as a cop on hunt is also fallen unconscious in chasing criminals.
It sounds interesting but the suspicion is also on Dev from his close friend in the police department. When it is enough is enough for ACP Ravi (Ajit Jayaraj) a forceful drama of Dev declared as dead in an encounter further complicates the things.
The thrill is still not complete. When Dev case is closed with his compelled declared dead in the department the emergence of Subhashini (Bhavani Prakash)! The two more murders after Dev declared dead and positioned in unknown place is what a trouble shooter.
Subashini as senior cop to ACP Ravi wants to reopen the case of Dev demise. Look at the director brilliance. He gives birth again to already pile up excitement.
Who is responsible for more than half a dozen murders after Dev brother Nikil murder? You have to wait till the end to know about it. Shiva Ganesh has given importance to paper work to arrive at this commendable thriller.
Rahul Ainapura in the middle aged role what toppers like Prakash Rai or Kishor in Kannada, Naseeruddin Shah or Manoj Bajpai does in Hindi come out well. This is the role of Rahul Ainapura that requires lot of patience and anger. In addition to it the disease requires more strength from the performer. He has done it extremely well.
Ajith Jayaraj with a few sundries in the career has come up with a stunner as ACP Ravi. Bhavani Prakash suits the role immaculately. Yash Shetty is quiet till the end, Hridaya as doctor key supporter to ACP Dev and Akshata as pair to ACP Ravi given admirable support.
Two songs that come in the background in this ‘Trataka’ are very melodious and meaningful too. Cinematographer has used all his senses to give right feast to the eyes.
Take your friends, family to this film. You can even bet while watching the film on the real killer.
